Coventry Blue

I've seen this all too many times, its been fifteen years living I a house and you realize you've never painted your walls.  Walls should be one if the first things you do when you move in.  Lets protect our walls.

Nowadays, paint and primer all in one is pretty much a standard.  When painting on walls that haven't been painted in awhile, it's nice to have a primer mixed in.  These walls only took two coats of paint, which is what I would normally do.  I thought it would take much more, and with previous paints it would, and maybe even a primer coat.  The paint and primer all in one covered extremely well.

Just finished up a great project.  Check out the transformation of this master bedroom, vanity area, and blaster bath.  Walls have never been painted before and I was concerned about how much paint the walls would soak up before looking somewhat decent.

I used the same color in all three rooms and its amazing how different the same color looks in all three rooms.  The color is Coventry Blue by Valspar.  It was the perfect shade of blue that wasn't too light or too dark, enough to make Joyce right statement.

Too light and your eyes play tricks on you trying to find the color on the wall.  Too dark and you get taken over by color.  It's very important to not only find the right hue of color but the rights shade/tint of the color.

I will leave you with a mini art lesson.
hue is another word for color.
Shade is the hue plus black.
Tint is the hue plus white.

Let's all go out and make good color choices!

peace & love
Rebecca
