DC Design House.. accessories and all things groovy

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to get a private tour of the DC Design House with the IFDA, the International Furnishings and Design Association.  We were lucky enough to have Victoria Sanchez, one of the designers, give us an inside scoop on the designs of the house.

I was blown away with the patterns, textures, and accents used.  Trends becoming apparent through the house and the industry.  Here are some of my favorite moments through the house.

The dining room has this beautiful bold pattern in soft greys and white.  A pop of bronze is always my favorite.
The place setting with beautiful layers of green, ikat, navy and a rock crystal to tie it all together.
The table has garnature of blue and white china and gold animals making this table fun and whimsical.
The butlers pantry was one of my favorite rooms.  It was simple and classic with navy, bronze and white marble.

The place setting in the kitchen had these great blue crab plates and bowls.
A unique solution to kitchen lighting, very crisp and clean.
The den was all shades of tan and beige.  Beautiful wood grain wallpaper lined the walls outlined with crisp white trim and frames.
The office was layered with wood paneling and a large masculine mirror.
A pop of life and color in one of the bedrooms against a monochrome zebra pattern rug.
Great crystal doorknobs to add a little sparkle in the master bedroom.
This chandelier is definitely a wow factor in the master bath.
And finally this beautiful wall covering traveled from the foyer up the stairwell three stories.  A bold statement that linked the whole house together.
Stay tuned for more of this beautiful house.

Be Inspired. Be Bold.

peace&love
Rebecca
