NEWH Trade Show

Yesterday I attended the NEWH trade show in Rockville, MD.  It was a much smaller show than KBIS but it was definitely not short on amazing innovative products.  This show concentrated on products in the hospitality industry. Compared to KBIS there were a lot more textile, tiles, and flooring displays and booths.  We were attracted to this one booth that specialized in leathers.  There are some very innovative things happening in the leather industry.  Leathers now come in any color of the rainbow and beyond, in any pattern you want and custom orders can be created so anything is possible.  The leather is sold as a textile but also as tiles and wall panels.  Change the way you think of leather.
Two leather samples both embossed with a alligator pattern.  The one on the bottom is covered in a protective layer that makes it extremely durable.  And it looks really cool and sleek.
This piece is a wall panel embossed in a basket weave pattern.  This panel is attached with a stronger version of velcroe. This allows for easy installation and redecoration.
A sampling of the different colors, finishes and patterns.
They also had sheep wools that can be applied in the same manners.

It's great to see these materials used in new and innovative ways.  Now think of the possibilities for other materials and textiles!

Be Inspired. Be Bold.
